The Maid and the Crocodile is set in the same world as Raybearer and follows a few years after the events of Redemptor. Only this time, we are not following the story of young rulers. Instead, we are following a young, disabled woman who has the mystical power to change people's future's by cleaning their homes. Our main character--Sade--is looking for a job, but before she can find one, she ends up being bound to a powerful god called the crocodile, who is rumoured to devour pretty girls.

Now, I don't know the particulars of what this story is going to give us, but here are my guesses on the big conversations I think the book will have:

• The disabling effect of capitalism/exploitative systems of power.

• The consequences of revolution on the lower class

• The differences in the ways the poor and the wealthy use their power

• Realistic expectations for what change and reconstruction of a kingdom actually looks like

Let me know your guesses down below and I will report back once I've had a chance to read the book!
