Hey, chat. It's me, ya boi!

It has been three days since we launched Cry, Voidbringer and I wanted to take a moment to check in and say thank you.

I knew from the moment I began reading Cry, Voidbringer that it was going to be huge. This book is filled with conversations that the world needs, packaged in relationships and character arcs that are equal parts beautiful and haunting. From the start, I have been as passionately invested in bringing this story to the world as is humanly possible.

I share all of that because I want you to really understand just how emotional this moment is for me. Over the last year, I have had a chance to get to know Elaine, to hear her heart for this story, and to sit and intimately wrestle through the message she was trying to convey to all of us.

At this point, Cry, Voidbringer's message has become my message. So watching as this book finally came to life has been everything to me.

Which brings me to my thank you... for a year and a half, I have been repeatedly saying how dependent our success is on community. We are in an uphill battle and without all of you, we would have no chance of success. Which is why it means so much to me to see just how successful we have been. Because we ARE succeeding. Which can only mean one thing: all of this is real. It means that you are not just here because of some viral TikTok or an impulsive click of a button. You're here because you care about creating change and helping to platform Black and brown authors. Which I know because you showed up.

So thank you. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for subscribing. Thank you for investing your time, energy, and money. Thank you for talking about the book and this community on your platforms. Thank you for recommending it to your bookclubs, for requesting it in your local libraries and indie bookstores, and for buying copies for your own libraries. Thank you to every single person who has shown up and helped to make our collective voice louder and our message stronger. I appreciate you more than words can ever do justice. I love you and I cannot wait to see just how big our impact is.

I have no doubt that Cry, Voidbringer and the books we are preparing to launch in the coming months and years will have a massive impact on a huge number of readers. We are releasing books that matter and we are only able to do so with assured success because of the time and work YOU are putting in. And I could not be more grateful.
