Left Unread Bookclub: We are Moving

Each and every one of you is in this club because you care about amplifying the voices of marginalized authors. So I think it is only right to make you aware that there are currently some conversations happening among creators about whether fable is a safe and inclusive place for Black and brown readers.
While I am hopeful that they will correct the issue, their current use of AI to generate some of their features has led to several readers getting racist messages from the app, and while Fable has agreed those mistakes are a problem, it does not look they are currently intending to stop using AI, which means this will likely continue happening.
With my mission being entirely about creating space for Black and brown authors, I am not ok with that.
Which is why I am planning to start transitioning my bookclub to another platform. Discord specifically.
If you are not familiar with Discord, it is a community engagement app, and I will be able to create chapter-by-chapter discussion rooms just like we have here! So I think it’ll be an easy transition.
Our bookclub will only be available to our Bindery members (Free and paid), so if you want to participate, all you have to do is go to My Account and sync your discord. Here is a link to your account if you do not see it in the drop down above: leftunreadbooks.binderybooks.com/account/
I am sorry for the inconvenience if you have moved over to Fable at my request! I know you care about reading Black and brown and I want to make sure we continue being able to do that together, so if you are not already in my discord, please go sync your account now so that we can continue reading together!
