Good morning! Tonight's Bookclub event is going to run a little different than it normally does, so I wanted to take some time to provide you a little bit of information.

Our book this month was Never Whistle at Night, which is an Indigineous Dark Fiction Anthology featuring a wide list of incredible authors!

So how will Bookclub be different tonight?

First, we will be joined by several of the contributing authors. Seven in fact:

• Andrea Rogers

Usually, BookClub is an opportunity for us to talk about the book we are reading and to air out our thoughts, feelings and to talk about what we loved and hated about the book, but this month, I saw an opportunity for us to celebrate a group of incredible authors of color instead. So with them joining us, we will shift our focus a little bit to engaging with them, talking about their writing, celebrating their contribution to literature, and getting to know them. If you want to talk about their work, that is perfectly fine, but please reserve any criticism of their writing itself to my Bindery comment section and the discord, as that isn't something we should not be doing with authors present.

Another change this month is that I have invited my good friend Naomi Darling to join me a s a co-host for the event. She is a major fan of this book and wanted to be a part, and with seven authors joining us, I thought it would be helpful to have two Bindery communities participating to make sure we give these authors a good turnout!

Please come even if you haven't read the book! As our goal will be to celebrate these indigenous authors and since we won't be critiquing the book, it should be a largely spoiler free event!
