New Milestone: We reached 1,500 community members this morning!

We did it, y'all!

When I woke up this morning, we were about ten people away from hitting our goal of 1,500 community members. And y'all... WE DID IT!

I am certain that my social media audience is getting tired of me talking about Bindery constantly, but we are trying to acheive big things here! Not only are we publishing incredible books, but we are working toward actual change. And I am passionate about building this community strong enough to weather whatever that looks like!

It has been an incredible nine months so far. And my primary goal at the moment is building this community in preparation to throw our collective support behind Cry, Voidbringer when it launches in October, 2025!

My GOAL is to get us to about 10,000 before that launch date. And, in my opinion, we are on track to hit that goal with plenty of time!

The next goal I am aiming for is 2,500... and I'm feeling froggy, so I think I'm gonna try to make it happen before the end of the year.

Think we can do it?

WHY DO THE NUMBERS MATTER?

I'm glad you asked, let me explain!

My number one goal is to fight for authors in the margins. And there are multiple ways I'd like to do that. First, I want to publish Black and brown books. And not just books. Books that I think have something challenging and meaningful to say. Books that I think will change people's worldviews for the better. And on top of that, I want to create resources and opportunities for indie authors. Resources to help them better navigate publishing spaces, but also opportunities for them to publish bigger and better. And all of that is going to take a strong community of people standing behind authors that are being set up for failure.

I plan to pick a lot of fights. And I plan to win every single one of them.

That's why the numbers matter.

I am not just pushing to grow our community in order to fund our stories (though that does matter). I am pushing to grow because the stronger our community, the more energy and influence we bring to the table as we collectively fight for authors.

My hope is that when our books launch, there is a massive community ready to push those books into the world. And when we fight for an indie author, that same massive community will be ready to talk about their books and to help them reach their audience as well.

Real change in this industry is going to take coordinated effort. It is going to take large platforms and powerful voices forcefully creating space. And while none of us have that kind of influence and power individually, as a community, we can strengthen our voice until people have no choice but to hear us.

And they are going to hear us.

That is the goal.

The kind of change that we can only acheive together.

So thank you so much for being here and I can't wait to see what we acheive together!!!!

We have a lot of big fights ahead of us, and I am growing more and more confident that we really have nothing to worry about.

  • If you are already subscribed, PLEASE consider upgrading to at least the $5 tier. Paid subscribers not only help us to fund our publishing projects, but they also get direct access to the content I am producing about those projects and get to actively participate in the publishing process.
