Do you want your name in Cry, Voidbringer?
Today is the last day you can get your name into our debut book--Cry, Voidbringer. Make sure you don't miss the deadline! I want everyone to know what...Show more
I have spent the last few days hearing how the book community feels about Cry, Voidbringer and yall... it seems like people are excited. I brought a few ARCs with me to Shelves and the City and people were so excited to read this book. And I know that is only going to continue, because this book is one of those stories that will alter the way you think about the world. I truly believe that. Which is why I chose it as our debut publication and why I am so excited that each and every one of you want to be a part of it. I firmly believe that this book deserves massive success and I am determined that it is going to have exactly that.
But this email isn't about that. I wanted to remind you all that today is the last day that you can get your name added into the book as one of our collaborators. If that specific form of recognition matters to you, make sure that you are subscribed at the $12 or $25 tier by the end of today.
Obviously, there is no pressure to do so. Whether you are a $5 subscriber or are subscribed completely free, you are an integral part of this community, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you and the faith you have put in us to bring change for Black and brown authors. I could not accomplish literally anything without you all. I am so grateful for this community and for the time, energy and resources you have poured into helping make this book a success. So please do not feel even an ounce of pressure to upgrade if that is not of interest to you.
What's in it for you?
If you upgrade, you will be getting all of the exclusive content you already receive, in addition to:
(a) Semi-regular publishing updates. Currently, that is once or twice a month. But now that we have multiple books we are working on and more on the way, that will get more frequent.
(b) A physical copy of all of our books a month or two before publication
(c) Your name listed in every book we publish on a dedicated thank you page
(d) Occasional bookish goodies from me and our authors (sometimes digital, sometimes in the mail)
As I said, there is zero pressure. But I do want to just be honest. While our primary goal is to build our community and fight for these books and these authors together, our paid subscriptions help us to fund our projects and to make all of this more sustainable. I want this publishing imprint to be entirely self-sufficient financially. When we go to invest in projects, I want to be able to point to our individual numbers and say, "We can handle this project. It is not a risk."
As our community grows and our budget gets larger, I can go to Bindery's leaders and ask for a more aggressive publishing schedule. Which means more Black and brown authors we can champion and a larger community of people demanding change in this industry.
Which is why we are here.
Currently we have one book coming out in 2025. I anticipate two coming out in 2026. And I'd like to be able to point to our numbers and ask for a third. Upgrading helps us to get there quicker. So, if you have the means and the interest, please consider investing a few dollars a month into this.
Thanks, yall!
